Meatloaf ( Rocky Horror Picture Show)

Thanks GKL for the reminder of how much I love Meatloaf.

Rocky Horror favorite songs Sweet Transvestite, Time Warp

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is my all time favorite movie.

We ( Mark, me and our firends) were addicted to it along with everyone else in our schools and town. I have seen it over 100 times. The theaters that ran the movie must have made millions! Every Friday and Saturday it seemed like thousands of enthusiasts, fans and Rocky characters would form lines that wrapped 10 times around the buildings and down the sidewalk. (Well after getting partying before the movie it looked like the lines wrapped around the building 10 times.)

The fire marshalls had to be in the theaters to warn the audience that lighting Bic lighters for the "there's a light" part of the movie was illegal and dangerous, becasue so many people, well almost everyone, would hold up a lite lighter and sing the 'There's a light"while waving the lighter back and forth.

I have forgotten how much fun we had. It was fantastic! There was so much more to the movie too! Those were the days of thoughtless carelessness, having the world by the balls, and knowing everything. I am glad I did not know then what I know now. Life experiences would have taken all the fun out of being a teenager.

Maybe our son the collector of DVD's can find the movie for me so I can watch it at the cottage on a rainy night. Oh hell I'll watch it all the time, who am I kidding.

C'mon you've had Meatloaf before!

But never with ketchup!

I haven't seen it 100 times. Can't you tell?

I love that movie. "I'm Just a Sweet Transvestite..." was the height of Tim Curry's career.

Here in Chicago, they used to do the whole Rocky Horror thing at the Biograph, which also happens to be the theater John Dillinger got shot in front of.
