Cottage with a View

Our closing lasted 20 minutes. The move, took all weekend and then some. My youngest brother Matthew and his wife Catherine, and their two sons, along with my son's girlfriend helped clean, prep for painting and set up the kitchen and bathroom in the cottage.

My husband was extremely myopic with the move. It was all about him getting his comfort needs accomplished. He insisted on putting in air conditioning window units, which really aren't needed now because the weather has been so cool, and getting all the furniture in place.

The only two things I wanted to get done were the cleaning and painting. At least the cleaning was finished. I now have to paint around all the furniture, two air conditioners, and the 5 dogs. I like challenges, so painting the cottage will take longer then planned, and I have a few more obstacles to maneuver around then anticipated. No big deal.

Mark and I reached an agreement. I will paint, and he will not help. He will sit back relax, have a beer, and harass me with his humor.

Congratulations! Don't forget to have a couple of beverages yourself. From experience, I recommend having them when you are doing the trim on the floor and around the doors and windows - once you get on the ladder it is best to hold off on the beverages. :-)
