Dog Training and kids

G Man is trying to get the dogs to use a doggie door. So far Jack the chocolate lab gets the idea. The other dogs need to see a crack in the door before they will push through. It's been two weeks and they are improving, but it is taking longer then G Man would like.

My son confided he is having a hard time making rent and keeping up with school. He takes 18 credit hours and works 25-30 hours a week delivering pizza. The real estate job is extremely slow, mostly because he does not have time to devote to it. I am kind of secretly pleased that Greg is struggling. He needed a dose of real life and is living it now. Money is tight, he has to work to pay the bills and is not able to buy frivolous items. He said he appreciates his dad's hard work and the contributions I made to his life. I hugged him when he told me.

But what is it with fathers and daughters. Jenny goes to school, works as a nanny and helps with the store. Nothing to strenuous. She lives at home and comes and goes as she pleases. Pays her own cell phone bill, pays for her entertainment, clothes, school books, gas for the car and car repairs. G Man lectures about budgeting, saving money, the future etc. Tells me I am not to spend anymore money on the kids then turns around and buys our daughter Ugg shoes. Because she wanted them. $110.00 shoes!!!!!!

When I asked G Man about the shoes, he just grinned and said " I'm her dad" UUggghh!!! Uh ok spoiling the princess again is more like it. Secretly I am glad he can do that.

Not much else is going on. Life is bland and slow now. Thankfully.

Yes. I feel it and see it in myself. I'm tough on the girls, and a push-over for my son.

Sadly, Mr. Ex favors Thing 2, to a weird point, and Thing 3 is his playmate. That leaves Thing 1 in a difficult place, doesn't it? Thing 1 is very much like me, Thing 2 more like her dad, but without the fatal flaws...

I feel so bad for Thing 1. She deserves a dad that will spoil her - but it will never be.

Life just isn't freaking fair, is it??

Glad life is blissfully uneventful!

The only thing almost as bad as Crocs: Ugggs.

I think this is a case of like mother, like daughter - afterall, you probably spent around $40 for two dollars worth of rubber.

:D

The only shoes worth 110 bucks are a good pair of Asics, preferably the 2110's

My dad still does this kind of stuff for me. I appreciate the hell out of it, but then once in a while it occurs to me he just still might be trying make up for those times he was a schmuck.

Bubbles: parents sometimes do not realize the hurt of favoring one child over the other. Good thing your daughter has youas a role model.

GKL: Ha! I get the crocs at cost my friend owns a store that sells them. Plus I have the OKA B's in my store that I get at cost too.

SD: yes running shoes are a good investment. G Man has about 7 pair in his closet. I have 2. But I have lots of pumps, boots, crocs, flip flops, Dansko clogs, kitten heel sandles and many handbags to match.

Kirby: My dad never spoiled me. He said it wasn't good for the soul

Dick: Life is unfair to you, you were born so unfairness could be heaped upon you and not on the rest of the world. Thank you for doing that for us. You are a good person.
