I like to hear and listen to the caw of crows. Usually when I walk from my car to the store several crow are having a conversation that is loud enough for me to hear but not understand. Almost every morning and evening I stop on the sidewalk and look up into the trees in an attempt to see them. So far I have only been able to spot one or two. I know there are more, I can hear their chatter, I just can not see them.
The black sleek feathers have a shine to them that makes the bird appear to have an opalescent gleam. Many people believe that crows are scavengers, but they would be wrong. Crows are omnivorous. They are a communal bird and the young tend to stay with parents for 2-4 years, helping to raise subsequent young birds. I like the family values they practice.

I had nightmares about crows for the longest time after watching The Birds.
I never liked that movie, it scared me too.
Caw caw caw!!
I love listening to crows, within reason. The first few caws always remind me of the Tom Waits song "The Black Rider." Trying to sleep when a bunch of crows are attacking a pecan tree, though, just makes me want to kill them.
That reminds me of my favorite "Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey":
"The crows seemed to be calling his name, thought Caw."
