Vegas 2

I have written about G Man's friend Vegass before. This weekend Vegass called to let us know he was coming down to the cottage, before G Man consented he gave Vegass a scolding from me.

A few weekends ago Vegass partied at the cottage with the promise that he would not drive home. He drinks alot!!! We offered him the use of our futon (the mattress is the best available to ensure comfort for our guests) which he accepted. But after we went to bed Vegass sneaked out of the house and drove home. He was drunk! I should have taken his keys from him, but believed extracting a promise was good enough from a 55 year old man. Stupid me.

Anyway, the only way Vegass was allowed back was if he did not drive home and gave me his keys. Which he agreed to again and he handed over his keys when he arrived. The guy was hammered by the time I went to bed. He walked through the screen door, dropped his plate of food, fell over a chair and was repeating his stories. I think he drank a bottle of wine and 6 beers.

G Man had to get the futon together for Vegass, sheets, blankets, pillows everything because Vegass could not manage it. When G Man got up to pee at 5ish he found Vegass all ready sitting on the throne. Yuck! I didn't need to know that, but how could I not when the bathroom is adjacent to our bedroom, and Vegass lets out a loud "HAHAA Dude I'm taking a dump!!!!" Great just what I need to hear and smell. uugghhh eeeewww!

By 6 :15 am Vegass was gone. I bleached the toilet seat before I used it.

Does he bring his own booze?

If it helps, my mom told me that the biggest crowds of company at her lake house were the first couple of years - then is slowed down.

Ugh, sounds like a frat boy who never grew up. What secret does he hold over your husband that allows him to be a part of your lives?

Kirby: I do not know if he finished high school, his father and my father in law were best friends, best men each others weddings, and as my husbands likes to say a memeber of the tribe. They have known each other since they were babies.

Bleach. What a wonderful invention.

Ugh-- sounds like he never grew up. Good for you for standing firm on the keys. Not that he deserves it.

BTW, I've posted the "secret."

We all have at least one of these guys, don't we. Good news is, some of them try to grow up. Our current drunk came to a party at our house recently and did not drink. It was the first time in 10 years I actually enjoyed having him around. Toward the end of the evening he told me he hasn't had a drink in 6 months. Keep your fingers crossed.
